In Italy, radio continues to attract a loyal audience, with over 36 million listeners tuning in every day, as per the latest data from the TER (Radio Publishers Table) of 2023. However, the radio landscape is undergoing significant transformations, embracing a strong digitalization that has redefined audio consumption methods. New forms of listening are emerging, such as web or smartphone streaming and podcast listening, enriching the radio ecosystem.

The introduction of Web Radio and the surge in on-demand streaming services, from Spotify to Deezer, have further expanded the avenues of audio consumption. From an advertising perspective, there is a significant growth in investments in the non-traditional Audio medium. According to Emarketer data, based on IAB, global spending on digital audio advertising reached $2.2 billion in 2023, an increase from $1.9 billion in 2022.
